Ciao Ryan! Benvenuto su Hardstyle Lovers Forum! Come stai?
Tutto bene, grazie!

In che modo ti sei avvicinato alla musica da giovane? E perchè hai scelto di produrre musica Hardstyle? Che cosa hai trovato in questo tipo di musica che ti ha affascinato così tanto?
Da ragazzino ascoltavo più Hip Hop, Rock e Metal. Successivamente ho scoperto la Dance Music, la Hard Dance Music, e infine l’Hardstyle. Aveva un’energia e una potenza che mi hanno fatto innamorare. Quando sono cresciuto ho cominciato a frequentare eventi "Hard", ascoltare la musica dal vivo e poi ne sono stato completamente conquistato.

Da dove deriva l'alias "Delete"?
L’ho trovato sulla tastiera del mio computer

A cosa ti ispiri quando produci una traccia?
La mia ispirazione arriva da tutto ciò che ho apprezzato da quando sono amante dell’hardstyle. Produco ciò che amo e che è memorizzato nella mia testa e nel mio cuore e che si aggiorna continuamente ogni volta che ascolto una nuova traccia che mi piace. La mia ispirazione è qualcosa che cresce continuamente, che uso anche per colmare le mie lacune. Se qualcosa non è stato ancora fatto, c’è spazio per la sperimentazione, e così altri generi possono aiutarmi ad avere un’ispirazione.

Pensi che il movimento della Rawstyle sarà sempre più conosciuto nei prossimi anni? E perchè ti piace questo genere?
Si, sicuramente. Sta crescendo così tanto che non vedo come questa crescita possa arrestarsi. E’ un genere ancora underground, quindi non si fermerà o esaurirà rapidamente. Mi piace perché è un genere potente,che ha energia e carattere.

Come è seguito il genere Hardstyle in Australia?
L’Hardstyle sta crescendo in Australia. Abbiamo il Defqon.1 ormai da diversi anni, il che è una grande cosa! In Australia si predilige la parte “mainstream” dell’Hardstyle, anche se il lato Raw sta crescendo molto. Tuttavia la scena è dominata principalmente dall’euphoric.

Con chi hai in programma le tue prossime collaborazioni?
Attualmente sto lavorando a delle collaborazioni tra me e Vazard e tra me e i Warface. Anche con Dark Pact, ma continuiamo a farci venire sempre nuove idee, quindi siamo un po’ lenti a finire le cose ahahah. Ci sono anche altre collaborazioni in programma, ma non voglio ancora svelare niente!

Sei uno dei pionieri della Spoontech Records, come sono rimasti i rapporti anche se non fai più parte di questa Label?
Vazard è un mio caro amico, proprietario e fondatore della Label, abbiamo cominciato insieme per stampare le nostre produzioni e da qui è nato tutto. Attualmente le mie produzioni non verranno più rilasciate in Spoontech ma sono comunque coinvolto da dietro la quinte.

Quanto è stato importante il passaggio dalla Spoontech Records alla Theracords per te e quali cambiamenti ci sono stati?
E’ stato un passaggio importante per me. Ho dovuto farlo anche per crescere come artista qui in Olanda. Il principale cambiamento sono i bookings. Sono sempre lo stesso Delete, sono ancora legato alla Spoontech e sono sempre stato un fan della Theracords. Si sono aperte più possibilità per me e per questo è stato un passaggio positivo!

Quali difficoltà hai dovuto affrontare quando ti sei trasferito dall'Australia all'Olanda?
La più grande difficoltà è stata per una questione di testa. Spostarmi dall’altra parte del mondo senza la mia famiglia, gli amici e le mie abitudini non è stato affatto facile. Qui tutto è diverso e questo avrebbe potuto scoraggiarmi, ma ormai è da un anno che vivo qui in Olanda e la parte più difficile l’ho superata.

E' possibile che presto verrai a suonare per la prima volta in Italia?
Lo spero, mi piacerebbe! Fatelo succedere hahaha

Quale programma usi per le tue produzioni?
Il DAW che uso è Cubase. I synths che uso di più sono Massive, Sylenth & Z3ta 2. Un mucchio di diversi FX, di tutti i software.

Cosa consigli ai giovani dj che vogliono avere successo nel mondo della produzione?
Se si è appena agli inizi, direi semplicemente di stare concentrati per imparare. C’è così tanto da conoscere e tutto quello che serve sono tempo e dedizione. Leggete i manuali per i DAW da cima a fondo. Leggete a proposito di synth ed esercitatevi sul produrre il sound. Immergete voi stessi in questo. Dopo diversi anni (si, ci vorrà tanta pazienza) otterrete risultati se sarete costanti. Se state già producendo e volete migliorare il vostro sound, allora dovrete sempre confrontare il vostro lavoro con quello dei professionisti e guardarlo con ammirazione. Confrontarsi continuamente con le tracks dei professionisti. Col passare del tempo svilupperete un buon orecchio per la qualità e ciò si rifletterà sul vostro lavoro.

Cosa pensi dell'Hardstyle italiana? Quali sono i dj italiani che ti piacciono di più o dalla quale ti ispiri?
La early Hardstyle italiana è la migliore! Activator e Zatox sono stati fonte di enormi ispirazioni per me quando ho iniziato a produrre (circa 8 anni fa). I loro screeches oggi giorno sono ancora i migliori e sono sempre stati e sempre saranno fonte di ispirazione per me. E le produzioni Saifam di Technoboy, Tuneboy e del resto della squadra. Così tante bomb tracks.

Quali sono i tuoi hobby nel tempo libero?
Mi piaccioni i film. Il miglior modo per evadere dalla realtà e indulgere in belle storie senza il bisogno di leggere un libro. Scoprire nuovi tipi di musica è un’altra cosa che mi piace fare nei giorni in cui non produco quella che piace a me.

Hi Ryan, welcome to Hardstyle Lovers Forum! How are you?
I'm doing well thanks

How do you approach to music when you were young? And why you have chosen to produce hardstyle music? What have you found into hardstyle music that fascinated you so much?
When I was younger I was more into Hip Hop, Rock and Metal. Then I discovered Dance music, then Hard Dance music, then Hardstyle. It was just the power and energy I really loved. When I was old enough I went to some hard dance events and I finally got to experience the sound live and then I was totally won over.

Where did you find your alias "Delete"?
I found it on my computer keyboard

From where do you find the inspiration when you produce a track?
My inspiration mostly comes from a total collection of everything I've ever loved in my whole history as a hardstyle lover. I produce what I love and that's stored in my head and my heart and continuously gets fed whenever I hear a new awesome track. It's an ever-growing inspiration library. But I also like to fill in the gaps. If something hasn't been done before then there is room for experimentation. So other music genres can help inspire me in that way.

Do you think that the Rawstyle will become increasingly known in next years? And why do you like this kind of music?
Yes definitely. It is growing so much now that I can't see it slowing down. It is still underground so won't crash and burn quickly. I love it because it has so much energy, power and attitude. There is no other genre where you can rip out a more disgusting bass face.

As Hardstyle is followed in Australia?
Hardstyle is growing in Australia. Defqon.1 has been there for many years now which is great! It's more mainstream in Aus though. The raw side is growing but it's definitely mainstream dominated.

With which djs have you in program your next collaborations?
Currently I'm working on some stuff with Warface & Vazard. Also Dark Pact although we keep coming up with new ideas so we are quite slow at getting something finished haha. There are a few others lined up but I won't mention any names just yet!

You are one of the pioneers of Spoontech Records. What'S your relationship with them now that you aren't a part of this label anymore?
Vazard is a good mate of mine. He is the founder and owner and we began the label for our own productions and it just went from there. Although my releases aren't on there now I still am involved behind the scenes.

How was important your passage from Spoontech to Theracords and what changes there were for you?
It was an important step for me. I had to do it to grow as an artist here in Holland. The main change is really the bookings. I'm still the same Delete, I'm still involved with Spoontech and I was always a huge Theracords fan. It's opened more opportunities for me so it's been a positive transition

What difficulties have you found when you moved from Australia to Holland?
The biggest difficulty has been the mental battle. Moving across the earth away from family, friends and my comfort zone was never going to be easy. Everything is very different here so it was quite daunting but I've almost lived here a year now so I think the hardest part of the ride is over.

It's possible that you'll be coming soon in Italy to play for first time?
I hope so, I'd love that! Make it happen hahaha

Which program do you use for your productions?
Cubase is the DAW I use. The synths I mostly use are Massive, Sylenth & Z3ta 2. Heaps of different FX, all software.

What do you advice to young djs that wants succeed in the production world?
If you are just starting out, I would say just get stuck in to learning things. There is so much to learn and all it takes is time and dedication. Read the manual for your DAW of choice from cover to cover. Read about synthesis and practice making sounds. Immerse yourself in it. After several years (and yes, it will take this long at least so be patient) you will get somewhere if you have continued with it. If you are already producing and wanting to get your sound better, then you must always compare your work to the pros you look up to. Endlessly reference against pro tracks. As time goes by you will develop a good ear for quality which will reflect in your own work.

What do you think about Italian Hardstyle? And who do you like more or inspires you?
Early Italian hardstyle is the best! Activator & Zatox were huge inspirations for me when I started producing (about 8 years ago). Their screeches to do this day are still the best and they always were back then and will always be a source of inspiration for me. And the Saifam releases from Technoboy, Tuneboy and the rest of the crew. So many awesome bomb tracks.

Which are your hobbies in the free time?
I love movies. Best way to escape from the world and indulge in great stories without needing to read a book. Discovering new music is another thing I do every day when I'm not making my own.
